Welcome, Alex - and a call for volunteers

We're thrilled to welcome Alex as our new River Community & Communications Coordinator, joining Water Rangers, The River Wey Trust, and ZERO Carbon Guildford. Alex will be growing our community-led stewardship programme by supporting volunteers, amplifying stories from the catchment, and strengthening the work already protecting the River Wey.

Get involved There's never been a better time to join us. No experience needed, just curiosity and a drive to protect our waters.

Water quality chemistry testing Help facilitate testing across the Wey catchment and upload results to the Water Rangers platform. It is simple, hands-on, and open to everyone.

Sponsor a test site Organisations and individuals can fund new monitoring sites, including E. coli testing. If you have an interest in your local waterbody, please get in touch.

Community Lab Join our weekly E. coli lab sessions. Samples are collected and processed on Fridays, with results read Saturday mornings. A friendly way to build real skills and contribute real data.

Super Samplers wanted Collect E. coli samples and/or support fellow volunteers by delivering samples to the lab on Friday mornings.

Building a network together Our goal is to create a connected network of testers, deliverers, supporters, and processors. Our aim is that every part of the river monitoring journey is covered by passionate local people. Whatever your availability or skills, there's a role for you.

If any of this appeals, we'd love to hear from you. Alex@waterrangers.com
