Night Recap
Last week our team split up into two groups to discuss our events calendar for the rest of 2026 and also the Our Future Surrey campaign.
Events: volunteers agreed they had capacity to run 5 'hero' (or large) events in the year, with outreach events and fun project events dotted throughout the months. This years hero events include: Water Quality Blitz (April), Great Big Green Week (June), Climate Resilience Forum (July), Energy Showcase (Nov) and Mock COP (Nov)
Our Future Surrey: ZERO will be helping to call on local election candidates to pledge "to make Surrey a thriving place to live and work. A place that’s healthier, greener and more affordable – for everyone, now and for future generations". If you're interested in supporting on this initiative, please get in touch!

Active Travel: In collaboration with GBUG, this session will explore practical, community‑led ways to make walking and cycling in Guildford safer, easier, and more enjoyable. We’ll agree on 3-5 focused themes that volunteers can meaningfully contribute to. If you’re interested in active travel, community action, or simply want to help make Guildford a cleaner, healthier place to move around, this is a great opportunity to get involved. No prior experience needed - just enthusiasm and a willingness to help shape positive change.

Sustainable Fashion: during the last fashion meeting, the team created themes for each of the monthly mending circles for the rest of the year. Come and get involved as we need help with organising and fine tuning the upcoming events and you can learn what this project team has planned for the future.
