A Record-Breaking Day at Rosamund’s Apple Pressing 🍏🍎

Last Sunday we had a record breaking turnout at the Rosamund Community Garden apple pressing event.

Children press apples at an outdoor cider-making event under a green tent. Adults watch and chat, creating a lively, community atmosphere.

Despite a poor forecast, the sun shone all day and great fun was had by all. The garden volunteers had made delicious soups and home baked bread and cakes which all sold out. Mary Tobin from Mary Makes Jam has become a regular feature at open days, and sold all her produce. Mary sells all her gorgeous preserves for charity - this time donating to the community garden fund and Your sanctuary (a women's shelter)

Two women smile under a red tent, one in vibrant orange attire. A table with jars and a seated woman holding a mug are in the background.

Charlotte from Earthlings joined us this year and provided wonderful nature activities for the children and a much needed downtime from the very busy pressing stations!

All the lovely DofE students, who are doing their volunteer awards at the garden, came and supported the younger kids with processing the amazing numbers of apples.

We haven't got the total takings back yet, but we think we've doubled last year's. The money will go to support the many projects at the garden.

Our apple presses are available for community groups to borrow.

Huge thanks to everybody who made this special day possible.
