About the Event

In late 2021 Surrey County Council launched the Greener Futures Climate Change Delivery plan - the first phase of a 30 year climate action plan for the county. The plan can be viewed here.

Climate change poses a threat to communities right across the globe, and whilst some areas will undoubtedly bear the brunt - and in many cases already are - there is no corner of the world that will remain untouched by this global crisis. In Surrey we are likely to experience effects such as increased flooding, extreme weather events & heat death, reduced access to drinking water and food supply, and infrastructure failure leading to unviable commuter towns.

Surrey’s Climate Change Delivery Plan was created in collaboration with a number of partners, including residents, businesses, schools, emergency services, and academia, and aims to bring all of these stakeholders into the delivery plan, acknowledging that it’s impossible to mitigate the worst of the climate crisis without significant collaboration across all sectors.

Join Surrey’s Climate Change officers, Greener Futures team, and head of Environment, Transport, and Infrastructure to learn more about Surrey’s climate change strategy, and find out how you can become part of making Surrey a leader in collaborative climate action.
