Here is a list of all of our projects and operations teams that we'd love for you to get involved in

Library of Things

The Library of Things is a project run in collaboration with Guildford Library to allow people to borrow items such as tools and sports and camping equipmentthat they may need occassionally instead of needing to buy them.

How can you help?
  • Checking and maintenance of items

  • Answering queries and contacting overdue borrowers

  • Managing the borrowing system

Marketing

The Zero marketing team are responsible for working with project teams to create social media, newsletters, blogs and press releases to publicise the great work that we are doing

Events

The events team manage Zero's events calendar, working with project teams and external partners to schedule events, advertise them and setup the space.

  • Responding to enquiries

  • Setting up furniture and managing the space during events

  • Reaching out to projects and external groups to schedule events

Tech Support

The tech support team look after Zero's website, the digital displays within Zero and back office software.

How can you help?
  • Updating the website in collaboration with project teams

Fundraising

The Zero fundraising team write our applications for grant funding and run crowdfunding and regular donation campaigns.

Schools

Zero's school team engage with schools and youth groups to educate students about climate change, pollution and nature

  • Learning how to give or support workshops on Doughnut Economics, HEAT COOL or how kids can change their behaviours

Community Fridge

The Community Fridge takes surplus food from supermarkets and other locations and distributes it to the public.

Finance

The finance team administer all of the finances for operations and projects; making payments, budgetting and producing accounts for auditors

Baby Clothes Library

The Surrey Hills Baby Clothes Library loans boxes of baby clothes to parents to help them avoid buying new.

  • Making up new boxes from donations

  • Sorting returned boxes so they are ready for the next borrower

Explore and Restore encourages people to use active transport by making them aware of and comfortable using active travel infrastructure by orgainising group trips

  • Finding new safe routes and planning trips

HEAT offers free home energy surveys to Surrey residents to find where heat is being lost

  • Sign up to train as an energy champion and conduct surveys

The Urban Greening team install nature friendly measures such as green roofs on buildings in the town.
