About the Event

Who runs Guildford — and how could everyday people have a real say in decisions about their place?

Join People Powered Surrey for a friendly, hands-on afternoon using Lego, games and a good dose of imagination to explore local democracy and picture how we can have a voice in decisions that shape this town. No special knowledge or experience needed! Just bring curiosity and an open mind. We will provide interesting conversations, fun activities and cake and coffee (or tea).

Your ideas will feed into the Surrey Citizen Manifesto, a resident-built case for genuine community involvement in the new West Surrey Council.

This is the first of many workshops People Powered Surrey are planning across Surrey, so you'll have a unique opportunity to help shape how future events will look.

About People Powered Surrey

People Powered Surrey is a resident-led campaign that aims to give everyone a voice in the decisions that shape where they live. With Surrey's councils being reorganised over the next two years, we're bringing communities together — especially those usually left out — to collectively imagine and design new ways for residents to be part of local decision-making. Through creative, hands-on workshops, we will turn people's ideas into practical proposals, so the new councils are built with residents, not just for them.
