About the Event

Run By: Guildford Environmental Forum, XR Guildford, Surrey Greenpeace, in collaboration with Mum's For Lungs

Surrey is in the top 5 of the most congested counties in the UK, with Guildford's A3 was found to have the highest levels of air pollution in England. Recent studies show even small increases in air pollution result in significant increases in the occurrence of mental health issues, with our inactive lifestyles contributing significantly to falling levels of public health.

The school run now accounts for a fifth of all traffic, and kids inside a car idling in traffic are breathing up to 10x more pollution than a child walking past that car.

This meeting, part of a series on air pollution hosted by Guildford Environmental Forum, XR Guildford, and Surrey Greenpeace, will discuss ways we can collaboratively make the school run a cleaner, healthier, more enjoyable part of our days. We'll be joined by members of the hugely successful campaign group "Mums for Lungs" (https://www.mumsforlungs.org/).
