About the Event

Three Rangers will be giving us a guided tour with up to 10 people in each group. This will allow for a more personal experience where there will be time for us all to ask our questions.

Unstead Wetland Nature Reserve is a 25.7 acre (10.4 hectare) site located in a rural setting in the River Wey valley. The site is adjacent to the Godalming Sewage Treatment Works on Trunley Heath Road Bramley (grid reference SU9945). The reserve is located close to the River Wey and almost immediately borders onto The Wey Valley Meadows SSSI site.

In the recent past it was a rich haven for birds and other wildlife. The historic bird records show an impressive sightings list in excess of 200 species. The reserve is being restored by the newly formed Unstead Nature Community Group, in conjunction with Thames Water Biodiversity team.

This tour will show us how this dedicated group of volunteers are transforming this land back to its natural habitat , you will learn all about the wild life and the  enhancement of the biodiversity , for wildlife and humans to enjoy for decades to come.
