About the Event

Discover the Secret World of Badgers with the West Surrey Badger Group.

Join us for an informative talk by Bob Shatwell, Chairman of the West Surrey Badger Group, as he shares his passion, expertise, and 30 years of experience in protecting one of Britain’s most beloved wildlife species.

What You’ll Learn

                  •               Where Badgers Live: Learn how to identify badger setts and the telltale signs of their foraging areas.

                  •               The Law & Badgers: Understand the legal protections in place for badgers and their habitats, and how development projects must comply.

                  •               How You Can Help: Discover practical ways you can support badgers and the vital work of the West Surrey Badger Group.

About the Speaker

Bob Shatwell’s love for wildlife began in his teens, rescuing a curlew with a broken wing. After serving 13 years in The Royal Horse Guards and a career with the Surrey Constabulary, Bob focused his energy on tackling wildlife crime - most notably helping to dismantle a badger-baiting syndicate in Essex. Today, Bob devotes up to four days a week to badger conservation and works tirelessly to protect their habitats.

This event is your chance to connect with nature, deepen your understanding of badgers, and become part of the solution to safeguarding their future.

Support the Cause
