Super-Superbugs- the quiet pandemic

Dr Dany Beste (Senior Lecturer in Microbial Metabolism)

The global increase in superbugs which can resist all antibiotic treatments poses one of the biggest threats to humankind which will have catastrophic effects on human health. Apocalyptic doomsday scenarios where we could routinely see deaths from minor surgery within 20 years is a reality if we do not stem the tide of these antibiotic resistant superbugs. Come and find out about the what, the why and the how of antibiotic resistance and futuristic antibiotic alternatives. Resistance is futile!
