30 Jun 2026, 19:00 – 21:30

Unstead Wetland Nature Reserve, Trunley Heath Rd, Shalford, Guildford GU5 0BW, UK

About the Event

To celebrate Swift Awareness Week, join swift conservationist Sarah Davis (Guildford Swift Project) on a guided walk and talk at Unstead Wetland Nature Reserve, a hotspot for swifts. We will be learning about how the environment of the reserve lends itself to feeding colonies of swifts, and how volunteers are helping to conserve these rare birds by managing the habitat and building Swift Towers.

Please bring binoculars, sturdy footwear, long and light clothing to protect against ticks. Feel free to bring a torch for later in the evening. We encourage lift shares a short distance from the meeting point to the reserve itself.

The Walk will last 1.5 hours with time at the end to watch swifts.

This event is being run in partnership between Guildford Swift Project, Unstead Wetland Nature Reserve Community Group, and Surrey Wildlife Trust.

Please note this is a nature event and we cannot guaruntee the swifts will always be there.

The tickets for this event are set up on a "pay what you want" basis. Any money paid will help to fund the Swift Project.
