Doughnut Economics: The Doughnut Unrolled - Introducing the 4 Lenses

We invite you to view the concept of Doughnut Economics through 4 'lenses', which can help Guildford identify areas for transformational change in our community, and our social and ecological ambitions.    

This workshop, led by Rob Shorter of Doughnut Economics Action Lab, explores the concept of Doughnut Economics and how it applies to Guildford. We will 'unroll' the Doughnut, breaking it down into four lenses, through which can identify the interplay between Guildford's social and environmental aspirations, how they relate to our global responsibilities, and where we might start addressing areas of action.   

By using the Doughnut as a framework we can begin to assess what the most important needs are for our local community, and how we can meet those needs without further contributing to the climate crisis or destruction of local and global ecosystems.   

The first Doughnut Economics workshop we ran in Sept 2021 was unanimously well-received, by local councillors, community leaders, and residents, and this 4 Lenses workshop will build on that work and help us delve further into how we move forward on a changing planet.
