About the Event
On January 29th we are holding an open forum to provide locals the opportunity to discuss what the community feels are the main issues Guildford faces moving forward, and the most popular ways to address these. This includes aspects such as food security, energy demand, flooding and heat death, and even the threat to Guildford as a commuter town as our old rail infrastructure begins to buckle in extreme heat. Â Â
A community-led climate action plan needs one thing above all - community input! We want to hear from residents, schools, churches, businesses, and all of the borough’s demographics. We need to build a plan which is fair to all residents, to ensure the buy-in and community cohesions necessary for building resilience and adapting to an uncertain future. The outcome of this meeting will contribute to the goals and direction of ZERO in 2022. Â
We can stand back and watch our beautiful borough struggle with the increasing pressures of extreme weather events and ecological devastation. Or, we can succeed in protecting our future together, as a united community.
