About the Event
From 12 February 2024, almost all developments are required to deliver a minimum of 10% Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and maintain these habitats for over 30 years, with this requirement extending to small sites from 2 April 2024.
Despite existing policy and legislation, the UK has seen a 13% decline in the average abundance of wildlife since the 1970s. This is where BNG comes in - to ensure that nature does not lose out when land is developed.
But, what does BNG mean in best practice terms? How can it be used to maximise impact? Why is it important for all landowners to be aware of? And, what are the pitfalls to avoid?
